PROJECT 1 - ANIMATED INFOGRAPHIC POSTER
Your main intention is to analyse the “delivery mechanism’s” that affect the outcomes of your infographics.
Though content is important, however the aim of this presentation is too look at what makes an infographic presentation work or does not work. This includes content but only as one of the many components of an infographic:

PART 1: Infographic poster (20%)

Instruction:
1. Choose 1 infographic poster reference from Internet (Please consult before proceed)
2. Redesign the poster into A4 size. Sketch the idea and process
3. Redesign and simplify the poster based on visual hierarchy & typography
4. Simplify the poster's design based on color, shape & pattern
5. Attach your final poster on E-Portfolio with explanation and reflective writing

PART 2: Minimal animated infographic (20%)
Instruction:
1. Animate your infographic poster into one static loop animation page
2. Loop duration in between 15-30 seconds
3. Size: 1080 x 1920 px (Vertical Video) upload to your own YouTube channel

Part 1 - Infographic Poster
We were required to find a bad-design infographic poster reference on the Internet. Below is the poster I found that the topic was discussed about sugar and was approved by Mr. Shamsul. We need to redesign and simplify it, so I first organize the information to simplify the process.

After organizing the information, I started to find some visual references on Pinterest and Behance to get some inspiration on different layouts of the poster.

Sketches
I sketched out 3 sketches, which inspired me more on the 4 and 6 visual references and Mr. Shamsul suggested developing sketches#3.

Digitalization
I decided to illustrate a simple human body in my poster to clearly point out the health risks. Mr. Shamsul thinks that the layout of my poster is ok but there are improvements in colour choices so developed a few more options.

Refinement
Mr. Shamsul suggested that I try red colour as the background cause imagining it's in a hospital, it does not attract other attention. The information is also not really connected so try to add more visual elements to improve it and make it more relatable to the poster. The percentage of the box is also not clear and no padding. After receiving feedback from Mr. Shamsul, I first found another colour palette and changed the layout of my poster.

I also found some visual elements for the background and images for the pie chart to improve the poster.
After the refinement I personally think it is more relatable to the topic "sugar", and it is more interesting and clear. The colour choice also becomes more eye-catching by using red as background colour. I also use Photoshop to edit and remove the background of my images.

Ensuring the alignment by using grids.

I separated the layers into different layers and renamed them into specific names to simplify the process when doing animation in After Effects.

This is the final outcome of my infographic poster.

After Effects
I watched some YouTube tutorials while creating the pie chart animation and added highlights to specific areas of the human body to emphasize each health risk. I also incorporated subtle movement in the background to enhance the visual elements.

FEEDBACK
Week 3
The poster was approved but remember to maintain the information in the poster.

Week 4
The layout is quite cluttered but can try on proceed with the third sketch.

Week 5
The background needs to be changed and the information in the poster is not really connected, maybe try to use more visual elements to improve the poster. The percentage of the box is not clear and there is no padding in the text inside the box.

REFLECTION
Throughout Project 1, I enhanced my skills in Information Design. This project made me realize my tendency to overlook details, and I recognize that I still have a lot to improve, especially in layout design and applying design principles effectively. Despite facing challenges and struggles, the experience was valuable in helping me identify my weaknesses and areas for growth.

One key lesson I’m still learning is to consider multiple perspectives when designing. I also faced difficulties while using After Effects for animation, but by patiently following tutorials, I was able to overcome them. This process boosted my confidence and improved my animation skills.

Overall, creating a clear and visually engaging design requires a deep understanding of various design knowledge, and this project has given me valuable insights into that. It provided me with a memorable experience and served as a reminder to keep pushing myself to improve and refine my design skills.
