Me and my friend went to the studio to shoot our self-titled photo and I discovered a lot of photography skills from my friends. I also very much appreciate that they helped me capture many good vibe pictures that I like.

Final Project : Self TitledLecture
In this final project, we have to bring together the knowledge that we learned from Digital Photography & Imaging, Illustration & Visual Narrative and Typography. We have to make a poster that conveys a narrative or theme that reflects our personal or artistic identity.

1. Write a biography about yourself
-Intro
My name is Wee Han and I am 19 years old. I am currently studying Bachelor of Design (Honours) in Creative Media, semester 1. I have five members in my family, including two elder sisters. My MBTI is ISFP so I’m a bit shy person.
-Paragraph 1
I love to go cafe hopping and capture beautiful moments through photography to record my life and surroundings. Music plays a significant role in my life and I enjoy listening to various genres of song such as R&B, rap, pop, and more. I always listen to music while I’m doing my assignments or other stuff. Music gives me a lot of energy to empower myself.
-Paragraph 2
I find it interesting to engage with design projects and explore different styles. This passion led me to choose Creative Media as my final course. My ultimate goal is to become a skillful designer in the future and excel in the design industry. Currently, I am focusing on working harder to improve my design skills, paving the way towards achieving my aspirations.
-Summary
Beyond my academic and career goals, I aspire to reach financial independence and support my own lifestyle. I believe that by dedicating myself to continuous improvement and hard work, I can realize my ideal lifestyle as a self-sufficient and accomplished woman.
2. Write a statement about your work
-Intro
I want to make it a girly concept with a pink color since the traditional culture of pink represents girls.
-Paragraph 1
As my biography said, music is a part of my life so I want to make my poster look more like a music poster. I get most of the inspiration on Pinterest and I finalize it with a girly aesthetic style poster.
-Paragraph 2
The poster aims to encourage every girl should embrace their courage and stay true to who they are. ‘Shine’ represents that every girl deserves to radiate like a shining star and not be burdened by others’ judgment, just to be the better version of themselves.
-Summary
Society should stop criticizing and remain silent to let girls shine in their own areas.

Sketches
After I sketch out my first sketches, I feel like there is a lack of richness in the visuals so I add on the eyes part and the rectangle. The eyes show the critical eyes of society, that everyone have a set of principles that impose rigid standards on women.

-Adobe Illustrator
I draw the star not just only to fit in with the theme of 'shine', but also I want to convey that everyone can be their own star and shine bright in the future. I used the effect to make the word 'shine' and the star into a 3D effect to enhance the cool vibe in it. Besides, I also drew a mouth-shut sticker to articulate that society should stop judging others.

I crop out my photo and also using the lasso tool to crop my eyes. I want to increase the music poster vibe so I add on the grain photo using the effect.

Adobe After Effects
This part was the most difficult one because I didn't really know how to use Adobe After Effects. I'm not familiar with the function so I watch a lot of tutorials on Youtube to gain my knowledge on it. Youtube tutorials actually help me a lot with the blinking to make my photo look vivid. I also rotate the star and do the shine word waving. Lastly, added a part of light music in my animation.Artist Statement : I want to express the power and beauty of being a woman. As a woman, I knew that there is always unfairness between women and men in this society. This poster is more like a reminder to encourage women to do whatever they want to do or dress whatever they please. There should not be a criteria on what a woman should be like, I expect women to shine brightly as unique individuals. Ignore society's expectations, we can always be the brightest stars and be confident in who we truly are.

Reflection
At first, I was very excited to do this final project because it was a full concept that we had to design by ourselves. I had a lot of ideas to put in my final project so I finalized it with the music poster and girly aesthetic style which was reflected in my final poster. After finishing my poster design, I faced difficulties in my animation part because I was not familiar with using Adobe After Effects. I'm frustrated with how should I start but after watching the tutorials on Youtube I know the simple functions to do in Adobe After Effects. I was very satisfied when I saw the final outcome was what I expected it to be and I also learned a lot of things from this final project.
