Project 2 - Production Shooting Video
In week 5 we had a brief from Mr. Martin on what should we do when we were shooting the scene and he also grouped the students into 3 groups to accomplish the shooting part. Mr. Martin also introduced us different scenes and angels to us. After that, we allocate which production crew we want to participate in for next week's shooting. We have also had a quick trial on the shooting to familiarise ourselves with the camera and lighting.

In week 6 we officially started shooting our scenes from the movie "Everything Everywhere All at Once". I'm the assistant director so I need to write down which scenes have the best outcome for us to use in our video editing.

Although the process is quite long but we really had fun in that time. I also learned how to adjust on different angles and different lighting to achieve that outcome which is similar to the real movie scenes.

After we had all the shooting, we were required to edit our video to make it different and fun. Try more creative editing styles and recommend the trailer editing style. For color correction, we also have to apply all color grading mentioned below at different shots.

I added some audio tracks to it because my way of syncing the sound has to be separate from each audio track. Mr. Martin requested us to not follow the order of the storyboard and make it more interesting so I cut out the footage and sound to my video and then adjusted it in a smooth way.

I use the comparison view to compare to the previous color and adjust it to a more similar color correction. I increased my exposure and contrast and reduced my shadows on the first clip because the movie footage is way more darker.

Figure 1.15
In the first clip, I apply bluish (cold), the second clip is greenish (cold), and the third is brownish (warm). I mainly adjusted the temperature to colder and reduced the shadows in the first clip. For the greenish one I also adjusted the temperature to colder and adjusted the tint to a more green side. The third clip I adjusted the temperature to warmer and increase the contrast and highlights.

In these last 2 scenes, I apply Teal & Orange and B&W High Contrast.

To make my video look more like a movie trailer, I added some intense sound effects downloaded from Pixabay. Thus, I also added the cinematic text title with some effects on it.

Final Project 2 - Production Shooting Video

Project 2 - TikTok / Instagram Video
For this task, we have to shoot our own TikTok video from our own interest content but we have to infuse our creativity into it to make it unique.

Proposal

After finished the proposal, I had the concept for my content and I used my phone to film all the video clips. Mr. Martin recommended us to use CapCut to edit our video but I used the Chinese version of CapCut, it's called JianYin(剪映) because I'm more familiar with it.

Then I imported all the video clips into it and started arranging and cutting it with the flow I wanted.
Figure 1.2

I choose to divide some of the scenes into 3 different sections (the first scene and the middle scene). I think this can enrich my vlog to enhance the splendor of the video.
Figure 1.3

I added some words to my vlog to make it look more interesting and vivid, it can also enhance the interaction with the audience.

I also added the sound effects of the typing sound in the last scene to make it more realistic.

REFLECTION
I really gained a lot of experience in these 2 tasks and I really enjoy doing it. Although the process of video shooting is quite difficult because we have to take care of the detailed parts such as the angles and the lighting, but I really have fun doing it. I'm quite satisfied with the outcome of the TikTok video, it contains a lot of ideas and thoughts so I really enjoyed it when I was filming and editing my video. The production shooting video needs a lot of teamwork, every position of the production crew is very crucial because everyone is doing different jobs and tasks to make a better outcome. That is also a memorable experience because it needs to cooperate with others and I also appreciate it with all my teammates.
